R-Ladies Rome
Mission Statement
R-Ladies Rome is a local chapter of the global R-Ladies organization, dedicated to promoting gender diversity in the R community through meetups, workshops, mentorship, and collaborative learning. Our mission is to create an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for people of all genders who are interested in R, data science, and technical communication.

Event Participation
By attending an R-Ladies Rome event, participants agree to:
- Behave respectfully toward speakers, attendees, and organizers
- Support a welcoming environment for beginners and experts alike
- Avoid recording sessions unless explicitly permitted
- Respect privacy: screenshots, photos, or names should not be shared without consent
The organizing team reserves the right to remove disruptive participants.
Speaker & Content Policy
We welcome speakers from all genders and backgrounds, provided their content is educational, technical, or aligned with the R-Ladies mission, supports open-source values, and upholds non-discriminatory practices. Talks should avoid promotional or sales, focused messaging unless pre-approved and should include clear, reproducible examples whenever possible. Speakers are expected to collaborate with the organizers to ensure accessibility, such as readable slides and inclusive language, respect for community standards, and accurate representation of contributors and sources.
Sponsorship & Partnerships
R-Ladies Rome may collaborate with universities, organizations, companies, or institutions that align with our mission. We work only with sponsors and partners who respect diversity, equity, and inclusion, do not engage in discriminatory practices, and support transparent, ethical, and community-focused initiatives. Sponsorship does not influence speaker selection, event topics, or community decisions.
Use of Data & Privacy
R-Ladies Rome respects the privacy of all participants. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties, and registration information is used solely for event organization and communication. Photos or recordings are shared only with explicit permission, and attendees may request the removal of their personal information from our platforms at any time.
Organizational Structure
R-Ladies Rome is led by a volunteer organizing team responsible for planning events and workshops, selecting speakers and topics, managing communications and online platforms, upholding the Code of Conduct, and supporting the growth of the local community. Decisions are made collectively and transparently, and new volunteers may be invited as the chapter continues to grow.
